چکیده

We present ALMA observations of the 880 μm continuum and CO J= 3-2 line emission from the transition disk around [PZ99] J160421.7-213028, a solar mass star in the Upper Scorpius OB association. Analysis of the continuum data indicates that 80% of the dust mass is concentrated in an annulus extending between 79 and 114AU in radius. Dust is robustly detected inside the annulus, at a mass surface density 100 times lower than that at 80AU. The CO emission in the inner disk also shows a significantly decreased mass surface density, but we infer a cavity radius of only 31AU for the gas. The large separation of the dust and gas cavity edges, as well as the high radial concentration of millimeter-sized dust grains, is qualitatively consistent with the predictions of pressure trap models that include hydrodynamical disk-planet interactions and dust coagulation/fragmentation processes.

Numerical simulation of incompressible turbulent flow in shrouded disk system with radial outflow

The flow behavior inside the shrouded disk system is of importance in appropriate design of turbomachinery cavities and turbine test cell hydraulics dynamometer. The turbulent incompressible flow is analyzed for the shrouded disk system with axial clearance. The flow core behaves as a Batchelor type structure when a weak inflow is imposed on the disk cavity. By increasing the inflow, the centra...

Orbital Evolution of a Particle Interacting with a Single Planet in a Protoplanetary Disk

We investigate the motion of a particle around a low mass planet embedded in a non-turbulent gaseous disk. We take into account the effect of the gas structure that is modified by the gravitational interaction between the planet. We derive an analytic formula that describes the change of the semi-major axis of the particle due to the encounter with the planet using local approximation in distan...

Effect of the temperature difference between gas and organic dust on propagating spherical flames

A new analytical study performed to investigate the effect of the temperature difference between gas and particle in propagation of the spherical flames. The combustible system is containing uniformly distributed volatile fuel particles in an oxidizing gas (Air) mixture. The model includes evaporation of volatile matter of dust particles to known gaseous fuel (methane) and the single-stage reac...

Using Ice and Dust Lines to Constrain the Surface Densities of Protoplanetary Disks

We present a novel method for determining the surface density of protoplanetary disks through consideration of disk ‘dust lines’ which indicate the observed disk radial scale at different observational wavelengths. This method relies on the assumption that the processes of particle growth and drift control the radial scale of the disk at late stages of disk evolution such that the lifetime of t...
